The most f****d up thing -
11-03-2006, 11:05 PM
Just came across an accident and saw an overturned car right in the middle of the road. Do you think anyone out of the 8 cars or so would even get out to investigate? Nope
So, i hop out of my car and go over to the flipped over car where i see someone trying to get out of the passenger side. I help the hysterical young lady out of the car and she's screaming about her baby! Oh fuck, i think to myself as i'm following her running around the car. I'm thinking the kid was thrown from the car but she's trying to get into the back door. Fuck it, i go back around to the passenger side and crawl on my back into the back seat where there she is....hanging upside down in her baby seat crying. I finally get that fucking belt and pad assembly off and she plops on my chest. She finally stops crying as i'm worming my way out of the car.
I say, all that drama took a few moments and you know what? Not a single person exited their vehicles and i was the one who had to call the cops.
Fucking people......do they just freeze up with shit like this?
The world is my urinal

Well done, you're strong willed.
There is a 'scientific' term for a situation like that, where everyone avoids the responsibility of going out of there way for someone else, assuming that someone else will handle it....

Its more subconscious than that, its going to continue to happen regardless of any single situation.
Thank god we have no-bullshit types like Arkan out there for cases like this one.

Thanks for the kind words fellas.
Tripper is right. It's called "Fight or flight". To be honest, this is the second time i witnessed that. Hopefully when my ass needs help, the right people will be there.

Interesting. And no, not all people do! Little less than a year ago I was driving in my home town and came across an overturned car. I parked on the side and ran up to help. Then about 4 or so other men came and we lifted the car off the guy (not the smartest thing to do at the time, but yeah...). The boy, only 15 driving without a license, was pretty fucked up. Had to wait a few minutes until ambulences and the fire dept came.
My jeans got all bloody too mad: My favorite pair! heh
