Default Holo-what? - 04-02-2007, 12:31 PM

Apparently some UK schools are dropping certain historical events (mainly the Holocaust) from their lesson plans for fear of offending Muslims!

fucken sick.

now generations of kids will grow up not knowing about the holocaust and we'll eventually make the same mistake all over again - just because they dont want to offend a group of people who take offense to things that arent even remotely related to them.

Should the word 'jew' be banned? If the holocaust offends muslims, then that word should as well because they both have the same significance to the muslim world.

I dont hear many german people whining about the holocaust offending them...

This is ridiculous im finding it harder and harder to be tolerant of muslims because of bullshit like this. If they want to live in the dark ages they should stay the fuck in the middle east.

The problem here isn't Muslims; it's braindead left-wing faggots who are trying to prove how PC they are to everyone.

yeah you're right, but no doubt some outcry from the muslim community would have instigated this -

...and on a side-note, why are we becoming so accepting of the ridiculous holocaust-denial viewpoint? i know they have every right to say it because of free speech, but that doesnt mean we shouldnt demonise the fuckers for doing so - its morally wrong to teach young children ridiculous shit like that based on an underlying racial hatred. im not talking about this specific case but more in general.

Funny how we let them win everything, just because we know they're all insane.

You can't just give an insane person what he wants. You need to lock him up and separate him from society or bomb his entire country.

[quote:1ea93]The researchers also warned that a lack of subject knowledge among teachers - particularly at primary level - was leading to history being taught in a 'shallow way leading to routine and superficial learning'. [/quote:1ea93]

I agree with this part.

I think history teachers should be at least educated to degree level if they are going to teach the subject. There's far too many popular myths taught in schools & I highly doubt that many primary school teachers would know a great deal about the subject. I know a fair few young ladies who are training to be teachers & tbh & wouldn't want them teaching my kids. rolleyes:

BTW all that crap about not teaching the Crusades & holocaust is most probably bs. The holocaust is such a huge subject just about all of Western civlisation would have heard about it from other sources anyway. I'm still waiting for my apology from the Italian government for their genocide by using British slaves in the Roman salt mines circa 50BC-300AD.
