Brown is UK's new prime minister

Brown at Number 10
Gordon Brown has become the UK's prime minister, succeeding Tony Blair.

Posing outside 10 Downing Street with his wife Sarah, the man who has been Mr Blair's chancellor since 1997 said: "Let the work of change begin."

well after numberous years its kinda weird to see the guy gone - since 1997, seems a life time. But anyway seemed he had a gracious last bow with a standing applause at the last House of commons with himself. And now comes on the new leader Mr Brown, the strong Scot' who seems pretty decent and clever and ja should do a better job.

So what's the mood over there? Will anything change? This is the next guy in line in the labour party right? There was not change of party, so will anything be different?

We kind of went through the same situation. We had the same PM since '92. Unreal. Laster 12 or 13 years. At the end of his reign he was beginning to be called a lame duck PM and the guy that took over did no better and they lost out and now we have a conservative minority government. Something like that possible over there?

nah he didnt say anything of the sort crazy. brown is supporting keeping the reduced numberof 5000 troops in Iraq as Tony Blair did.

and ninty well it does feel a change, he said it is a new government with new ideas and policies and new people in different posistions, and the guy does feel much more of a natural leader, less of the polite-ness and more of the straight down to business. He was very sucessful Chancellor aswell so does seem the right choice, and the opposition party are in such a mess arguing with themselves that as soon as the general election comes around its blatent that Mr Brown will be elected.

Ta-da you fkn slag!

I didn't mind Blair actually, even though he was a labour loving commie, I just heard on the news that Scotland Yard has found a car bomb in London. Perhaps my contract running out at VISA was a sign? ed:

[quote:70613]A car bomb planted in central London would have caused "carnage" if it had exploded, police sources have said.

A controlled explosion was carried out on the car, packed with 60 litres of petrol, gas cylinders and nails, in the early hours in Haymarket. [/quote:70613]
