for the ppl who whine about shotguns/rockets/snipers

Only one or two RL, snipers, or shotguns are needed to balance most games...not 5 or 6 per team.

I love to play realism also, BUT if they are dumb enough to come at you with those choices of weapons, a good team using sound tactics should be able to put an end to them pretty fast.

I do however see your point of balance, it makes for some great fights.

I would rather not know what to expect and change my tactics to defeat them. Seems more realistic to me, just my 2 cents.

Damnit come on!! – TOO MANY on a team? I could say the SAME THING about the MSG. ESPECIALLY on a realism server where one hit is all it takes to knock you out of the game. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again – the gameplay mechanics of this game are not set up for the type of “realism” people are trying to introduce here. For everyone who says this game is to “QUAKEISH” – NO KIDDING!!!!!

Come on now.

I mean, it just bites my craw that the MSG is supposed to be this godly weapon, that is without flaw, and is ok to use. I can remember when it was just the ZOOK that people complained about. Then it went on to the SNIPE, then NADES, and now SHOTGUNS. It’s just insane. One man with an MSG against a team of shotties SHOULD be able to knock them the hell out – I’m sorry but you should since you can fire clear across town and they need to get up close and personal to do damge.

Case in point, say an ALLY hops infront of my silly AXIS self, and I go after him. If I had a snipe, or a zook, or an MACHINE GUN – he’d be dead. Since I have a shotgun, I have to get on his ass before I can even think about letting off a shell – or he will know im there, and you may or may not bein trouble. The shotgun is an incredible disadvantaged weapon to use, esxpecially in open spaces – so when folks complain on its “UNREALISM”, or its over-use I just laugh.

If anything the ALLIED RIFLE is the cheapest. You can “snipe” from a distance and let off more than one bullet – improving your chances of a head kill. Trust me – I’ve whored this weapon on more than one occasion.

Cerebral Assassin you're right I didn't buy this game for realism. However I did buy this game to have fun. And when you have over a dozen snipers running around on a map the game is not fun.

I think that anyone can eventually become a master of a weapon, be it MG, shotgun, or even bashing with the pistol for that matter (damn you Oppression hhehe).

When at real war, you can't decide what the enemy will have for a weapon. So stop whining and just be happy that there are no atomic bombs in the arsenal hehehe!!!

I myself have complained about rockets, but have no problem with shotguns or snipers.

The rockets, it seems to me, are for people who lack skill using conventional weapons, but that's fine, it's when FF is on and my own teammates end up killing me more than the other team is what makes me hot. They can apologize all they want, but if they don't know how to use it properly then they shouldn't go near it. I also agree that there are ways to combat that weapon. Unfortunalty it seems that the best options are camping and catching them by suprise or getting in close with them so they take themselves out along with you. Neither is much fun.

Shotguns are great. They take skill. Sure one shot can take you out, but you still need skill to be a good shot. I've tried it, and am really no good with the shotgun. Other people with better skill with it really can make good use with the shotgun.

Sniping is also great. It lends itself to camping, but that's what a sniper does, and it can be great fun. I think that if a server is going to be predominatly sniping it should say so in it's title though. That way your forwarned, but if you end up in one of the those games, take advantage of it. Hone your sniping skills. 'All sniping' games can be great fun. Just keep behind cover, don't move, and always relocate after making a kill.
