Guys dont get me wrong, I love Saving Private Ryan, and I though it was the best war movie ever made, but 1 thing that made me mad was the fact the Capt. Miller Tom Hanks, had the 2 silver bars on his helmet when in fact they would never be there and if they were they would be black like other captains during the war, with those silver bars on his helmet he could be seen a mile away, totally false and untrue.............

I feel better now!!!! lol........

The Military Advisor, Cpt. Dale Dye actually pointed this out as a mistake but the Producers overruled him and they continued on the path of historical and military inaccuracies.... ohwell, it was still a good movie though

That helmet thing, it's quite funny if you think of it. How hard would it have been to paint those bars black? Not very hard, so why not make it historically accurate. beats me

Didn't he wear the helmet, atleast in some scenes so that the bars were on the back side?
