Default Video Card issue...help!!! - 08-15-2002, 12:56 AM

Hey guys,

Long story short

Radeon VE 32meg card - stable but low fps

replaced it with

Gforce4 440MX

Latest detonators installed.

Fps are much better but have a unique problem. During gameplay, my Fps will drop from any number (40-120) all the way down to 2-7 Fps. BAH!!

I stop running and "let the card catch up". Maybe for one second then my fps regulates back to normal. Happens more so in close fire battle. All I see is a crapload of fire flash then im dead!

I am totally at a loss here. Anyone out there have any ideas?

Thanks for readin the storybook post guys.

Make sure you have com_maxfps set to about 150

2) Make sure v-sync is off
3) Disable anti-aliasing
4) Get latest via 4 in 1 drivers if your using a via mboard or v1.009 ALi AGP drivers for an ALi mboard.
5) Turn off shadows / weather effects / full weapon view / smoke / and set models to medium / curve detail to medium / sound to medium.

I used to have this card and I found these settings worked the best....but eventually I saw the light and now have a GF4Ti 4400.....rah
