Arctic Sniper you sound like a guy who's gonna stay here awhile. So, welcome to the boards. There are 2-3 threads concerning this topic and there are some good stories. Unfortunately I don't have any because I have no relatives that I know of who were in WW2. I do have a 30 year old cousin who's driven an army tank.

Sory i dont got any relatives from WW2 but my grandpa was in the "Forgotten War"(also called Korean War) and he served in the United Nations force. When he came back he always told stories and once he told me about his friend. Anyways, His friend's artillery battalion was suddenly attacked by like a regiment or somthing of chinese(yes chinese participated in the korean war)and he had no choice but to open fire. Because his battalion was really back and could really see the chinese, the guy ran close to the chinese to the exact location of the atack. THen boooommmmmm. The howitzers opened fire right in the ranks of the chinese. Chinese suddenly started retreating because of their heavy losses. My grandpa's friend got a silver star for his bravery after the thing. And thats it.

my grandpa was in WW2, im not entirly sure of all the things he did but i know he was in the infantry, and he had shot of like huge cannons cuz he has bad hearing, one story he told me was when him and his squad were sleeping in a church in italy (on christmas eve!) a bomb landed right in there room and didnt go off, and they sat there ALL night watching....waiting...he told me this a few christmas eves ago, he was in tears when he talked about it.
