Capture game action to video -

I remember this being talked about this a while back, but can't find anything on the subject. Can this be done? I want to capture to stuff like mpg or avi, but the format doesn't matter too much as long as I can get it converted to something I like.
I think you need a video card with a tv out, then record to vhs. Then you have to do some other stuff to get it back digital, the conversation lost me there.
DogMeat knows a way that you can make an .GIF with screenshots. It will make MOH take photo after photo, and then when you stop it, just compress the images/reduce the size, and makle them into an animation. Otherwise Pest and Panzer are correct, you either need to hook your video card to a VCR/TV or get a TV Tuner card.
Well sheesh. I've got an All-in-Wonder card, but didn't think it was possible to capture if I were "in-game." I'm still a bit skeptical about how to do it exactly, but I think I've gotten the answer I needed. I'll check it out and let you guys know.
