Default MAP PREFABS?! - 09-04-2002, 10:39 PM

I was wondering if anyone knows whether there are prefabs included/located somewhere in MOHAA itself (for example, the church from "The Bridge"). Or, does anyone know where i could obtain a bunch of prefabs for city type of scene? I am open to any suggestians. Thanks!

i would suggest no.
since the prefabs get loading into the map you are editing and only the map is required there would be no use keeping them around. however there are a number of unused stuff in the paks so douth thus....

1. copy the game pk3s to somewhere so you dont fuX0r the originals
2. change all the filenames to zip
3. goto a download dite and get into a file/disk/compression tools section... id recommend http://www.webattack.com cause its got easy2use sections. get a program that searches within zips for files.
4. run a search inside all the pk3s for *.pfb (<--- that correct?)

OLE!

I looked through all of the .pk3 and there are absolutly NO prefabs. Does anyone at least know how to open the maps that come with the game so i could try to save a certain cuilding from the map or something like that?

Impossible, you cannot decompile a map.
It 's sad but true and there 's nothing we can do about it.

Does anyone have any ideas how i can get a hold of alot of buildings then without building them so i can speed up map production?? I don't mean to be lazy or uncaring, i just need a lot of large buildings for my map and it will take about a year to complete otherwise.

Usless you are a very good mapper, too many buildings will kill your fps. However if you want prefab buildings, go here

You will have to register to download

Thanks for the link. This will be a really great help to my mapping effort. But still, if anyone has any additional ideas on where to get prefab buildings, that would be great. Thanks again.

Default docs - 09-07-2002, 02:02 AM

Look in the "docs" folder that came with the editor. There are two maps and one is "m4L0", it has a few basic type buildings you can steal. BTW, you can play that hidden mission by typing "map m4L0" in the console.

Some of the Quake3 prefabs work for us:

Good luck.
