Default Not a noobie? Please stay off noobie servers - 09-04-2002, 11:52 PM

Yeah, I admit it: I'm a newbie. MOHAA is my first game. Ever.

So one question: Why would an experienced player want to play on a newbie server?

I see it all the time -- guys so much better than the rest of us getting cheap kicks picking off the new players.

I've got one word for that: lame.

And I've heard all the excuses: "I'm new to MOHAA. I've just played Quake/Unreal/Whatever" or "I'm new, I just have good eye-hand coordination," or "I'm just a naturally good shot."

Wonderful. Then it's time for you to move on. A true newbie is someone who can't play well. I don't care whether it's because of lack of experience, eye-hand coordination or whatever.

So if you've got 20 kills and 3 deaths, I think that's an indication.

I'm still on the B Team, dude. Please go play varsity.

Hard to know what the noob servers are. Most servers have a pretty good mix of good people and people just starting. The one thing that is for sure is you wont get better playing against noobs, I suggest coming on the aa.com server and the DOA server and spectate a little bit and get some pointers and enjoy yourself. These two servers along with a few others have very nice people that will help you out if you have any questions or just want some pointers.

I think he means servers that have been flagged as 'Newbie' Servers. Like HPB only servers. It's rare to see these for MoH but I'm sure they exist.

i understand where you're coming from, there's nothing i hate more than being new to a game and getting wasted by some pro, but it also helps me develop an appropriate strategy to beat the good players. but if people want to run a newbie server, they should at least monitor it.

yeah Crows is like that, we have about half of teh people who can hold their own (3-1 down to 1-1 kill to death), myself included. Then we have a bunch of "2 kill 15 death wonders", and for some reason they all join the team I'm on mad:

anyway, my opinion is that the only way to get really good is to fight the really good people, sure you will get smoked at first but you will get a lot better a lot faster.

This is my first internet game I've played and I'm not so good!

I know how you feel but look at it this way...
the harder your playmates play the better you'll become you will learn!
I went on the aa.com server last night and believe me I felt very new. I will continue going on cuz I want to improve but most of all remember this IT IS A GAME so ENJOY!

well Nor am I a computer game person, the only other computer game i've played would have to be AOE.

But thats is totally besides the point, Although I don't see many of thse Begginers only servers--although, i am sure there out there, I have no idea why people do it, it was like than when i used to play AOE, too(way back when.)

But all I can say is those people are the morons of the game, actually i have no realy opinon on this subject, other than: "that sucks, i know how you must feel"
