not trying to convert anyone -
09-07-2002, 09:53 PM
Again im not trying to force a religion upon anyone even though I am a Christian, I remember that bible thread a while back and a lot of bad things were said there, so spare this thread of that, again IM NOT TRYING TO CONVERT YOU...
Ok with that out of the way I was at another forum (world war 2 onlines) and found this post, most of it I had no idea, but here goes, very interesting.
"I have done no reasearch on this subject, but have acbody fluidulated many very odd things over my 17 years that I will share. I wanted to say this stuff so Ill do more reasearch later. But for now, here are some facts...
*Scientists have confirmed an abrupt language split sometime around 5000 B.C.. This is coherent with the Bibles story of the Tower of Babel, where the people wouldnt spread out over the earth like God told them too, so he confused their languages into 4 diffrent languages. Looking back into the roots of all world languages, they can ALL be traced back to 4.
*All world religions mention a great flood. How can this be pertained to science? Consider this. Dinosaurs, according to the bible, were nothing more than giant lizards. This can be explained by the fact that before the flood, the earth had very little water, was very humid, and stood straight up and down on its axis. This would mean humans and animals would live extremly long lives. Give those lizards time to grow and they would get very big. Pre-Flood, it is belived that there was a giant layer of water in the atmosphere. In the bible it says god "Opened up the skies". This explains how the entire world could be flooded. After the water had fallen, It is belived that the pressure of the waters broke apart the 1 continent on Earth and caused the continents to drift apart across the earth. And than 2/3s the earth was covered in water. The fact remains, a world flood DID occur. It caused the extinction of the dinosaurs and many other animals. All world religions mention it, from Christianity, to Hinduism, even to remote religions in the jungles of Africa.
*Egyption charriot wheels have been found at the bottom of the Red Sea. This is coherent with the Bibles story of Moses leading the enslaved Jews across the red sea and god covering the pursuing Egyptions with water. And another shocking thing, there is a part of the Red sea(near the mouth) that is only 4 feet deep. There is a long underwater path 5 feet wide that spans the Red Sea. You can walk across it at one point, and it drops sharply on both sides down hundreds of feet.
*The bible mentions things about in the future, weapons will be too small to be seen. This is easily explained as viruses and chemical warfare. It says these weapons will be used in the last days.
I will do more reasearch about Science and the Bible and some prophcies which have already come true. I just thought Id share some of these facts! If anyone has any more to add feel free! And consider this with an open mind. Science is in fact about Getting to the Truth. Not considering these relevent facts would be closed minded and unwise. Thank you."

My answer ? They easily could have added truths along with their half-truths
in order to up the validity level of the Bible's contents... but I don't even
care. The chariot point is biased, and I won't even say why, as most of you
should know what I mean. The last one is an educated guess, and that also
needs no extrapolation...
I don't consider myself close-minded and unwise for not welcoming any of
these "findings", as I am probably one of the most open-minded people in
this place: I still think it was a nice little work of fiction. I can't wait to see
what others will have to say!

Canadians are not stupid, it's just you, pyro. PS. when a christian wants to have a religious discussiong, and the opening sentence is "i am not trying to convert you" he/she is usually lying. Infidels.
