After watching your fps for a while figure an average (or about +15 from the worst)number your getting and set it for the max. This makes things run smoother.

All maxed at 1024/768 runs fine for me at 70-100 fps. I never try higher resolutions though cause I only have a 17" viewable flat panel. Anyone ever use better resolutions without problems?

Are you reinstalling from the CD or from the cracked warez zip file? If from the Cd try installing to a new directory....or go back to the store and tell them you need a new copy.
