I agree with Von P The thin red line scene was my favorite. It had great music that built up the tension then all of a sudden the japs come running out of the fog.

I've got a problem with SPR, I don't like the way the historical facts (except the first 20 minutes) are forgotten.

There were so many TRUE and dramatic stories during the D-Day so I can't understand (or I don't want to) why Spielberg decided to make his movie using an "Hollywodian" scenario (to show Tigers & Waffen-SS?)

Nevertheless, on the D-DAY, Paratroopers of the 2nd battalion of the 507th PIR fought near Cauquigny. Lt Louis Levy and 10 men, stopped a column of german infantry supported by old-french Renault tanks, destroying several tanks with Gammon grenades and a bazooka.

Just read the book "US Airborne invasion of Normandy" by SLA Marshall and you'll find tons of TRUE stories like this one.

That Thin Red Line scene was awesome and by far my fav..

But the scene that also got me thinking was the scene in Enemy At The Gates in the beggining where the Russians charge the German line only to be mowed down, then the last retreating Russians get shot by their own officers and men cuzz they retreating.. The Officers are yelling "FOR STALIN" and "NOONE RETREATS!". That had to be horrible and i heard they really did that stuff.. Imagine surviving all that only to be killed by ur own men.

Also When The Trumpets Fade when they running through the forest wit mines and explosions.. that was cool

I would have to say the scene in 'the longest day' when the 101st mis-drops in the middle of town and the Feldgenmarie (german military police) open up on them with everything they got

i really like movies or anything about beach landings so i would have to say the landings on the movie longest day(even tho they werent accurate as crap) and the landings on SPR and even the ending part that would have to be kinda spooky listening to the tanks squeak as they move towards you.
