Windows CD problem. -
06-29-2003, 01:57 PM
Hey, guys, Maybe you people can help me with a small but annoying problem I'm getting.
You see somehow autorun for my CDs isn't working.
I pop in the CD and nothing happens now, I tried going to my cd driver's properties there's no mention of Autorun there.
Is there anyway way to enable this feature? Because obviously somehow it got disabled. :/
Btw I'm running WinXP Home Edition.

right click Properties/

I do that, since there's only file types for music, pictures, etc. I picked the one called mixed contents...there is no software option or anything. And it's still no go.

You have to change a setting in your registry to turn it on.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer
the key CDRautorun should be set to 0, and the key NoDriveTypeAutoRun should be set to 95.
If neither are there, create them and enter those values.

Sorry to rehash an old thread, but I found and answer to your problem.
Run the Auto Play Repair Tool (Line 234)
