Default Kill Bill: Volume One - 10-11-2003, 05:23 AM

Suprised, no one posted it here yet.

Did anyone see it? Your thoughts? I heard it was great, and reminded people of old-school kung-fu movies, with the squirting blood when limbs fall off, and some wire-fighting and what-not. I'm going to see it in about ohhh. . .52 mins. That's of coarse, if there's no "traffic" getting to the "Movie theatre" rolleyes:

For some info:

-This is the 4th movie directed by Quentin Tarantino. The first four were: Resuvior Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown. IMO, these are some of the greatest movies I've ever seen.

-Tarentino was also in these movies, along with Desperado, Natural Born Killers, From Dusk Till Dawn, etc. . .

-The movie is called Kill Bill: Volume one, because the actual movie once finished was a little over four hours, and Miramax felt the movie would be too long for a single movie, so Kill Bill: Volume Two is expected for Feb. 2004.

-Volume One is sopposed to contain most of the action of the entire movie, while Volume Two is to contain more dialog.

-The movie stars Uma Thurman, Lucy Liu, Daryl Hannah and Vivica Fox. It's a fighting / drama / comedy film. The premise is that Uma works with a team of crooks, and decides she's had enough with the bad life, and wants to come clean. Once she starts to get her life into hands, she is backstabbed by her former team, and is left for dead. She finds that the man in charge, Bill, is the main culprit for having her killed, hence the title, Kill Bill.

-One cool thing (or aggravating for others) is that Uma's bike suit she wears resembles Bruce Lee's fighting outfit from Game of Death.

As you can see, I've been looking foward to this film. happy: Here's the trailer links if you haven't seen it.

Yea looks pretty cool. Love Tarantino Movies. Pulp Fiction and Resovoir Dogs were great. Liked Pulp Fiction a little better though. This will hopefully be equally as good.

the words ultra violence and vulgar coem into mind when quentin tarantino gets mentioned. imo his films are not that great. this new film of his looks to be pretty stupid imo. the whole samurai sword, fighting shite guarantees ultra violence. the story sounds quite humorous actually until you find out it's not a comedy. the age of romanticism is over i want soemthing else.

Yep Castro is correct.
I saw the 7:20 show and it was great. The blood squirting like a fountain was a little cartoonish for me...but it gets the over the top reaction from the viewers. QT does some good lighting /stage work and the fight sceens rock...UMA is teh superhero. I would prolly give it a 8.0-8.5 beer:

btw the tight yellow suit worn by bruce lee represents an absence of style and form. meaning his fighting style changes according to the situation so there is no specific form. now i don't know what it could represent in this movie.

Right, it was meant to show that he had no connection to any fighting style of any kind. Someone watched A Warriors Journey. biggrin:
