You guys are gonna love this one... but here goes:

I was visiting websites while waiting for people to post some threads on this and I had already found that thereisnomonkey thing.. So overjoyed with finally finding my problem I went to try it out. Alas, the dreaded "This is cheat protected." message still plagued me and I've yet to get past it.

Here is my command line:
"C:Program FilesEA GAMESMOHAAMOHAA.exe" +set cheats 1 +set thereisnomonkey 1

So here is the really cool part... I figured maybe 3rd person was just being stupid, so I tried to activate any old cheat. So I typed "dog" into my console and can you guess what happened? I got a lovely message saying that cheats must be enabled on the server with the command +set cheats 1.

So what the heck... as you can see by my command line I obviously have the thing set. So I guess there is something else to it. Where exactly are you guys using the cheats? I've tried to start a new game, I've tried to load a mission in the middle, I've start to start at beginnings of missions, nothing ever works... So what now guys, would love to hear your answers..

Stooz, are you using the 1.1 patch?

Yep, I sure am.

Apparently some people think it necessary to revert back to retail version, but it looks as though some people are getting things to work even WITH the 1.1 patch, so I don't think version is an issue.

But yes, I have the 1.1 patch installed.

Well try going back to the 1.0 retail and see if it works.

Yah I'm trying it only in SP mode, I would never dream of cheating in MP. Still doesn't work for me, I'm using exact same settings and methods all of you are using and it just keeps giving me those messages, I have no idea what's up.. it's very aggrivating..

I don't have my command line here at work, but I've posted it on this thread (one page back, I believe).

EDIT: try adding this, too:
+set ui_console 1

I don't know if it'll help...

You are only trying this 3rd person in single player, right? B/c it won't work in multi. Also if you go into a multi game, you have to restart the game before the cheats will work again.
Also, do you have any mods installed?
