Besides, the only reason Arafat got one was because he 'participated' in talks about peace. Talks, as everyone knows now, that bore absolutely no accomplishments at all. Rabin, Arafat and Peres all shared the peace prize, they HAD to give one to Arafat because he was present.

Yes the Jewish settlers are fanatic dipshits too, but the topic at hand was Arafat. He helped start all the shit going on now. The settlers dont have a legitimate claim to most of the land they occupy now, but they wouldnt be there if Arafat had worked towards peace instead of rallying all of Islam to his cause. If Islam had learned to share Palestine with the Jews, then there wouldnt be this problem. Decades of murder and suicide bombings tend to make you unwilling to deal with someone in the future, no matter what administrative position he holds or the 'save me jesus' appearance he has among his people.

I'd say the problem started when the Palestinians were forced to give up land and forced to share it because a large multinational organization backed by the newest superpower decided that that would be the best place for Jewish survivors of concentration camps. And especially the land that the two religions have fought over many times before.

But now that they're there and its been established that they will stay there, they should work together to end the hostilities, but thats just a pipedream that unfortunately will never happen.
