What, How and Where ?

If MoHAA is the game your having problems with then,

Go into the Multiplayer Options (where you choose skins) and it should have a connection type there (xDSL, Cable, LAN, ect.)

If it is anything below xDSL than that is probably what is causing your problem with ping. You may also want to try opening console and typing:

set rate 10000

but without quotes.

I forgot about that...but if it says anything other than what you really have it can cause problems.
