find the bridge of your nose and pinch just below it heres a pic
WHILE holding you head back at about 45 degrees. also find someplace dry that will help with the clotting, to humid, like a steaming shower will loosen the clot and cause it to bleed again

I believe it should be holding your head 45 degrees forward (as to stop you from chocking on your own blood. As far as im aware... first aid books have been changed to this.

I've only had a bloody nose once in my life. Whats with them? Everyone I know get's 'em, but I only happened to get when when I was six, and was running to jump over the bed frame in our backyard my dad was staining, and I tripped and banged up my nose. Never, ever had a sudden bloody-nose.

I dunno, I seem to get them at random every once in awhile. Maybe sneezing too much or something.

first aid books keep changing back and forth between pinching the bridge of the nose and pinching the nostrils.

I once had a nose bleed in school (6th grade). The nurse told me to pinch the bridge of my nose. It kept bleeding and bleeding. So I went to the hospital in an ambulence. The doctor told me to pinch my nostrils....another told me the bridge. Then they quaterized my nose, but it only worked for 5 years or so and now I get nose bleeds every so often. They're usually caused by dry weather and the inside of the nose cracks up.

I have a ruptured vessel. for 1 week every other few months or so I get tem daily. The vessel just pops under the pressure. they last 8 minutes at most but the are not fun to have. Tilt the head back and pinch where the bone starts.
