ok I'm using photoshop 7 and I have a picture created by a friend and we want it as a loading screen for a map that we are creating.. Anyway it says i need to add a alpha channel??? So I open the tga in photoshop...What do i di next to add the alpha channel, since we are on the subject what is a alpha channel? why do i need it and is it true thiers more than one alpha channel? i think i want the transparency one.
Well in photoshop theres a lil box in the bottom right of the screen and then theres a butoon that looks like a a moon with half of it being black. Push that and yur ready to go.
Ok, i got a screenshot of it if yur usin Photoshop....
An Alpha Channel is a mask. Generally grey is translucent (see-throughable but you can still see it slightly), white is opaque, and black is translucent. I have never used the program you are using but try looking for Masks on the toolbar. That how it is with PSP.
If it's so difficult getting an alpha channel then try without one: see

and follow the link in that thread. (btw I used adobe 6.0 when made my "alpha channel" loading pic.
