I'm gonna assume that this guy was trying to push an agenda in the classroom and that is probably why the principal started cracking down on him ... but if she was denying these documents solely because they referred to God etc. then the People's Republic of California is further gone than I thought.

And like I said, these are the kind of stories that make religious people think that the pendulem has swung too far and it's time to make a stand. IMHO that's why you see the big backlash.

1) History is the study of factual events. God/religion should be allowed to be mentioned, for example, as a leading cause for the crusades, but i see no reason to take it further than that.

OMG Exactly they are just words … There wouldn’t be problems if people treated that as just words, if you do not want to believe, than don’t … Excuse the majority of the country for believing in a higher power, if you don’t want to just ignore it, like most people ignore collection calls.

It is already part of our history; we shouldn’t just change it to provide comfort for people that in the last 10 yrs had nothing better to do than complaint.
