Sorry dude but if these girls swerved into the oncoming lane of traffic, then they were at fault. Sad but true.

no, it wasn't. It was the deer's fault and because he isn't able to be held legally responsible, it becomes no ones fault.

They should of seen the semi on the other lane coming towards them, hell I would of just rammed right through that dammn deer, its definitley not worth dying over.

the VP was at fault not the guy that got shot. It was an accident but the victim was not at fault. Even in an accident someone can still be at fault, I dont think any kind of criminal prosecution should happen but he should have known what lied behind his target

RULE #1
always know your target and what lies behind it

its that simple

They could have swerved to the right, into the ditch. It is against the law in all states to cross over the line into oncoming traffic, except in a pasing zone when the way is clear.

Ok, the VP 1st. It was an accident plain and simple. Was there some level of negligence? Perhaps but from both parties. Both parties made errors which supported the chances of an accident happening.

2nd, the girls in the car. Supposed they hit the deer and it came through the windshield and killed the passenger. Who's at fault? Driver couldn't swerve to the left because of the truck, couldn't go right because of the 1000 ft cliff and she couldn't stop in time because she was doing 55mph (the speed limit) and the deer just darted out in the road. Who's at fault? That is a clear example of "No Fault".

Any of you guys actually handle real firearms? (No, paintball guns don't count). Next time you go into the field or the range, watch others. You can see people making mistakes all the time. Fingers in the trigger guard when not on target, pointing a loaded weapon in a direction other than downrange, Getting a stovepipe and not knowing what to do 1st, shooting at target without realizing the line of fire travel once past the target....etc, etc. Both Cheney and Whittington are responsible to the events leading up to the shooting.

I don't see ahy anyone is arguing about this...who the fuck would say Cheeney is clear of any wrong doing? he shot someone for fucks sakes...accident or not he still shot someone...

Hell you're supposed to look before you do something...do an environment check to make sure shits clear...if some kid jumps into the water and then some guy walks by...it is still the jumpers fault for hitting the guy because he should of saw that someone else was close.

Cheeney is deserving of some penealty and punishment for this.

Yeah do not ever slow down for a deer, it will just hurt even more if you try and swerve around it and go into a ditch or another car. I know back on Quantico there are deer out all the time on the roads. They always tell us if a deer comes out dont fucking stop or slam on the breaks just plow right through it.

there were mountains on the one side if I recall correctly and I don't think the truck was visible when she swerved. This girl drove a honda civic, that car hitting a deer at highway speed would have messed up the car and both passengers. No fault.

Also, I'm pretty sure the guy would have to press charges to get Cheney prosecuted, and they were pretty good friends from what I hear, so I wouldn't expect it.
