[quote="TGB!":4a73d]I tried reading the first book a couple years ago, and realized what ridiculous shit the book was. The woman CAN NOT write. At all. Theres so much better literature out there for kids than this bullshit thats not getting any play. . .its sad.[/quote:4a73d]

I agree, but maybe this will encourage some kids to go out and find that other literature. I guess reading one book is better than reading none.

I have one friend who is reading it, and another who read the first 3 and dropped it. I haven't read any of the books or seen any of the movies. Just not something that really appealed to me personally.

I think it'd be pretty hard to start reading and get into the whole magical, teenager hero as an adult - many people probably either started reading the series as kids...or to their kids. So maybe that's why you guys could never get into it.

The bulk of this series I read about 7-8years ago in middle school and at that time I could really get into the plot.

Kids books aren't meant to be especially well written, they're supposed to be easy to read.

The fact that Harry Potter's intended audience was 6-10 year olds escapes many people since so many adults read it also.

I read the first three between 5/6th grade. I never read any of the other ones since.
