I think he means the map sounds Fubah. Like the wind blowing and stuff like that. to get rid of that just open console and type "cinematic" . It removes all ambient sounds like leaves rattling n shit.

you can edit the main map script files.
in each, you'll find a line that calls out to the ambient script. just comment that out and you're done.
"exec global/ambient.scr mohdm1"

or even easier, edit the ambient.scr file. then you only have to edit 1 script

an even eaiser way to do this is go into a game. open the console, type editscript and youll see the part that says exec global/ambient.scr (map name) delete that line and hit ctrl S. then open the console again and type restart and vuala the sounds gone.

super-cool, i never heard you could do that.
but, by changing the script this way, will it change it permanently?
either way, it will help me tremendously when testing my mods. I sure wish I knew about that months ago.

Or you could replace the ambient sounds in \main\sound\amb_stereo with empty .mp3 files... (silence, 10 seconds each).

You can find out which map uses which soundfile by viewing the .mus files with notepad in pak0.pk3\music\.

thats kind of dangerous. as in, you'll change the original pak files from the game.
thanks for the handy knowledge. it'll definately save me tons of time.
