Assuming that the teams are of equal size and skill, it seems to me that the Allies are at a clear disadvantage.

If the Axis want to wait, they have the advantage of severe bottlenecks (where the road ends) which are easily defended.

If the Axis rush, they can leave the Allies with very little cover. Grenades hurled over the buildings effectively kill Ally rushers, crowding them behind the 2 buildings to their immediate left, where grenades plus encirclement are inevitable.

Am I missing something, or do you agree? Any ideas on dealing the the grenades which make crossing the street at the start simply suicide? Any other ideas?

(If this has been previously posted, please forgive me; I read the posts but may have missed one)

waiting 5-10 seconds would give axis even more time to dig in at the end of the street.

The only thing i've seen that makes this situation a bit better are only 3 grenades, or less.

I tactic I use sometimes when the axis rush the town area is to rush as well. Sometimes they are caught offguard by a single person rushing through them.

I posted my ideas on tactics for Allies who are out-numbered on this thread a day or two ago.

http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/For...ML/002184.html

It is designed mostly to give ideas on how to deal with rushing Axis, rather than breaking a guarded perimeter.

I'll post my ideas on that a little later, when I get home from work

In my opinion Allies aren't at a disadvantage, so long as you have decent players who are patient. The map is very well balanced.

I agree with the reduction of grenades in the game. It may have been possible to have 6 'nades straped to you in RL, but for the games sake I think it should be downsized to 3.
