Default Odd thing with my computer... - 04-19-2003, 10:44 AM

Well, this seems to only happen when I'm playing a game, the computer speaker beeps like a car alarm sometimes. It's happened twice this morning while playing Devastation, and once yeserday playing Nascar 2003. Anybody have any idea why it could be doing this? The only way I can seem to get rid of it is to reset the comp.

Nah, just happened in Postal 2 also. I just really want to know how turn off the PC speaker if it isn't a major problem (which it shouldn't be) And Devastation SP is actually quite neat, I like it. Nothing special, but kind of nice.[/b]

Your computer is dieing, you need a new one, even though it's probably a a few years old.

No, no, it was shutting down last week, but it just needed to be cleaned, ass load of dust. This is just a thing with the PC speaker making a sound like a car alarm that's really fucking annoying.

It's not the actual speakers. It's the PC speaker, inside of the computer. You know, it's like on the motherboard, the one that bitches if you hold a button like ctrl too long (at least for me when I play DoD)

id put my money on over heating. try taking the cover off & put a fan beside it & play again. if it dosent beep then you know you have a heat problem.

It worked!

Actually, it hasn't happened to me since, so it may just be a random thing. Yesterday I played Unreal 2 for like 5 hours straight and it didn't do it so it might be. I don't know..
