He either has too many visible brush faces in the map, or a brush with too many faces showing. I think the max for 1 brush is 64, for the whole map it's 32k or 64k.

You have to use a bsp decompiler to convert maps back into a readable format for Radiant. You should know that bsp translates all brushes and surfaces into triangles and they can not be converted...

You only need one player start and allied/axis spawn points only work for team play... you probably started FFA, for which you need deathmatch spawn points.
